About the Widgets Page

The Widgets page lets you add content and features to your web sites using widgets. Widgets provide a simple way to customize your web site. You control which widgets you include on your web site as well as where the widgets appear on the page. Some of the widgets have options allowing further customization, such as adding information or images. The Widgets page for the Kigo discovery theme provides different widgets and a different layout than the standard Widgets page.

The left side of the page displays all of the widgets available for you to choose. These widgets are the only ones you can select for the Kigo discovery theme. On the right side of the page you'll find the widgets that are already selected for your web site, organized under the Pages, Header, Footer, and Sidebars tabs. Adding widgets to these tabs controls the appearance of your web site.

The information throughout the Widgets page is divided into the following groups:

  • WordPress widget: These widgets are part of the general WordPress widgets. They are highlighted white. The functionality of these widgets is controlled by WordPress, see WordPress Widgets in the WordPress codex for more information.
  • Theme widget: These widgets apply only to the Kigo discovery theme. They are highlighted teal.
  • Kigo widget: These widgets apply only to the Kigo WordPress plug-in. They are highlighted orange.

You can also add, arrange, and remove widgets from the home page blocks (for example, sidebar, top, bottom, header, or footer), and from the sidebar in the Search results page, the Property details page, "other" page templates, and "content" page templates.
