Location: Websites – (Web site name) – Edit – Kigo – Property & Search Settings

Required Setup: In order to view this page, you must be assigned the role of General Manager, Marketing Manager, or a custom role that includes the Solution permission.

Scope: This feature is available for Kigo Plan 2 and above.

About the Property and Search Settings Page

The Property and search settings page is where you will set up your web site's search features. You have several different types of search features to choose from.

Property & Search Settings Page

  1. Search result display modes: The Search results page can display the properties in the List, Photo, and/or Map modes. This section lets you turn these modes on or off in your web site.
  2. Search result settings: This section lets you sort results on your web site by bedrooms, sleeps, category, heading, city, minimum price, or maximum price. You can also sort your search results randomly.
  3. Property search form settings: This section lets you set up the search bar for your Kigo features.
  4. Property detail screen settings: This section lets you select the display options for the Rates & availability tab and Property review tab on your web site's Property detail page.
  5. Attraction settings: This section lets you select the display options for the Attractions tab on the Property detail page.

Below you can see an example of how the search results might look on a Kigo web site. The Photo display mode is currently selected and the List and Map modes are available.

Field Definitions

Search Result Display Modes

  • List view: If On is selected, this adds the List mode to your web site's search results. This allows your customers to view the property listing with a small image on the left and a list of the property's features on the right. A List button appears on the Search results page to let customers switch the listings to this view.
  • Photo view: If On is selected, this adds the Photo mode to your web site to your web site's search results. This allows your customers to view the property listing with large images above a brief list of property details. A Photo button appears on the Search results page to let customers switch the listings to this view.
  • Wide photo view: If On is selected, this adds the Wide photo mode to your web site's search results. This allows your customers to view the property listing with a large wide-image view and a list showing with multiple rows in one column.
  • Pagination: If On is selected, your web site's search results paginate with each page containing the number of properties specified in the Number of properties per page field.
  • Number of properties per page: Select the number of properties you want returned in your web site's search results.
  • Map view: If On is selected, this adds the Map view to your web site's search results. This allows your customers to view the property listing on a Google map.
  • Google default map view: If On is selected in the Map view field, select an option from this field to indicate how the map should display when customers view the page. Your options are listed below.
    • Roadmap: This displays the default road map view.
    • Satellite: This displays the google Earth satellite images.
    • Hybrid: This displays both a normal and a satellite view.
    • Terrain: This displays a map based on terrain information.
  • Avg review stars: If On is selected, this adds the average number of stars a property has received in its reviews.
  • Default search result view: If the List, Photo, and/or Map views are turned on, this allows you to select which search view you want your properties to have by default.

Search Result Settings

  • Availability filtering: If On is selected, this sorts the search results based on a chosen field. If Off is selected, this sorts the search results in random order.
  • Default search sort order option: Select an option from this field to indicate how the search results should be filtered. Your options are listed below.
    • By bedrooms: This sorts the search results by property's number of bedrooms.
    • By sleeps: This sorts the search results by the number of people the property can sleep.
    • By category: This sorts the search results by category.
    • By headline: This sorts the search results in alphabetical order by the property's descriptive headline information.
    • By city: This sorts the search results in alphabetical order by the city where the property is located.
    • By minimum price: This sorts the search results by the minimum price. Note that items are sorted by the least expensive daily rate of a property over its entire lifetime. Properties that only feature weekly+ rates are prorated in order to sort.
    • By maximum price: This sorts the search results by the maximum price. Note that items are sorted by the most expensive daily rate of a property over its entire lifetime. Properties that only feature weekly+ rates are prorated in order to sort.
    • Random: This sorts the search results in a random order.
    • Ascending: This sorts the search results in order of increasing value. For example, alphabetical listings are sorted A-Z.
    • Descending: This sorts the search results in order of decreasing value. For example, alphabetical listings are sorted Z-A.

Property Search Form Settings

  • Check-in check-out mode: To add search options based on check in, select one of the following options:
    • Check-in date picker/check-out date picker: When you select this option, it adds a property search filter for the check-in and check-out dates to the web site. Customers will use calendars to select the dates.
    • Check-in date picker/length of stay drop-down: When you select this option, it adds a property search filter for the check-in and number of nights to the web site. Customers will use calendars to select the dates.
  • Default nights of stay: If On is selected, this adds a property search filter for the length of stay.
  • Category search: If On is selected, this adds a property search filter for the category.
  • Sleeps search (min): If On is selected, this adds a property search filter for the minimum number of people the property sleeps.
  • Bedroom search (exactly): If On is selected, this adds a property search filter for the exact number of bedrooms. If you select On for this field, Off is automatically selected for the Bedroom search (min) field.
  • Bedroom search (min): If On is selected, this adds a property search filter for the minimum number of bedrooms. If you select On for this field, Off is automatically selected for the Bedroom search (exactly) field.
  • Max bedrooms in list: Select the maximum number of bedrooms to display in a list. This field only applies if On is selected for either Bedroom search (exactly) or Bedroom search (min).
  • Amenity search: If On is selected, this adds a property search filter for the amenities. You may need to add the amenity search from the New property page or Edit property page.
  • Development search: If On is selected, this adds a property search filter for developments. You may need to add the amenity search from the Developments page.
  • Number of adults search: If On is selected, this adds a search filter for the number of adults.
  • Number of children search: If On is selected, this adds a search filter for the number of children.
  • Property Headline Search: If On is selected, this adds a search filter for the property's public headline information. Customers will enter the headline in an auto-complete search field.
  • Location Search: To add search options based on location, select one of the following options:
    • City drop-down list: When you select this option, it adds a property search filter for the city. Customers will select the city from a drop-down list.
    • City autocomplete: When you select this option, it adds a property search filter for the city. Customers will enter the city into an auto-complete search field.
    • Market area drop-down list: When you select this option, it adds a property search filter for the market area. Customers will select the market area from a drop-down list. You may need to add the market area search from the Market areas page.
    • Market area autocomplete: When you select this option, it adds a property search filter for the market area. Customers will enter the market area in an auto-complete search field. You may need to add the market area search from the Market areas page.

Property Detail Screen Settings

  • Hide rates and availability tab: If On is selected, this hides the Rates and availability tab on the Property details page.
  • Availability calendar: Select an option in this field to indicate how many months to display in the Availability calendars on the Property details page. You may also choose the Hide availability calendars option to hide these calendars on the Property details page.
  • Hide rates table: If On is selected, this hides the Rates table on the Property details page.
  • Display property review tab: If On is selected, this displays the Property review tab on the Property details page.

Attractions Settings

  • Attraction type filter: If On is selected, this displays the attraction type filter on the Property details page.

Selecting Property and Search Settings

  1. From the Property and search settings page, select the search modes, search settings, and property settings.
    • Slide the On/Off toggle left to turn the option Off or right to turn the option On.
    • Click the drop-down arrows in the fields to select the options.
  2. Click the Save changes button at the bottom of the page. Most changes are applied to the web site immediately. You may need to refresh your web site and/or clear your cache to see the changes. If you do not see the changes after this, contact Kigo support for assistance (support@kigo.net).
