Customize Theme

Location: Websites – (Web site name) – Edit – Appearance – Customize

Websites – (Web site name) – Edit – Appearance – Themes – (Click Customize button)

Required Setup: In order to view this page, you must be assigned the role of General Manager, Marketing Manager, or a custom role that includes the Solution permission.

Scope: This feature is available for Kigo Plan 2 and above.

About the Customize Theme Page

You can modify the appearance of your selected theme on the Customize theme page. From this page you can change the:

  • Name of the site or the tag line.
  • Background color
  • Background image
  • Navigation menu
  • Pages to display by default

If you are using the Kigo Discovery theme, your options are different from those listed above. See Customize Theme (Kigo Discovery) for further details.

Kigo Websites Customize Theme Page

This page displays a fully functional view of your currently selected theme. As you customize the page, the appearance of the theme changes to give you a chance to preview your selections.

The functionality of the Customize theme page is controlled by WordPress. For more information, see Appearance Customize Screen in the WordPress codex.

Changing Site Title and Tagline

  1. Click the Site title & tagline section. The title and tagline fields display.
  2. Enter the site name in the Site title field.
  3. Enter the site tag line in the Tagline field.
  4. Click the Save & publish button.

Selecting Background Colors

  1. Click the Colors section. The background color fields display.
  2. Click the Select color field. Your color choices display.
  3. Select a default color or enter the HTML color number into the Current color field.
  4. Click the Save & publish button.

Selecting Background Images

  1. Click the Background image section. The background image fields display
  2. Click the Select image button. The Select image box appears.
  3. Select an image and click the Choose image button. The Select image box closes, and you return to the Customize theme page.
  4. Select an option in the Background repeat field.
  5. Select an option in the Background position field.
  6. Select an option in the Background attachment field.
  7. Click the Save & publish button.

Selecting the Navigation Menu

You can only change the Navigation menu if you have already created new menu items. Use the Menus page in Kigo Websites to add or edit menus.

  1. Click the Navigation section. The navigation fields display.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow in the Main menu field and select a menu option.
  3. Click the Save & publish button.

Selecting Front Page Display

Your front pages may be static pages (for example, an "About" page) and/or post pages that show your latest posts.

  1. Click the Static front page section. The page fields display.
  2. Select the Your latest posts option or the A static page option.
  3. If you selected the A static page option, select the pages you want displayed.
    • Click the drop-down arrow in the Front page field and select a page.
    • Click the drop-down arrow in the Posts page field and select a page.
  4. Click the Save & activate button or Save & publish button.
